"About Me" When my husband, Rodger, and I were married in 1986, it was the happiest day of my life. With the only other exception being the birth of my daughter, Tacey. What better way to celebrate my happiness and our love than to collect one of the most romantic of love tokens, the wedding cake topper. I started collecting Wedding Cake Toppers in the 1980s and have been collecting ever since. I have an extensive collection that dates from the late 1800s through and including now. My favorites however are the antique toppers that are very difficult to find. My collection of cake toppers led me to start collecting all types of wedding memorabilia as well. This ever-expanding collection lead me to write a book about “Vintage Wedding Cake Toppers”. On a personal note, I was born and raised a California gal. After high school I started working, only taking time out to have a baby. After working for several years in the aerospace industry my husband and I decided to purchase and operate an antiques mall. Within due course, the collecting bug took hold and this seemed the perfect time to start appraisal classes that were being held in our mall. We attended and graduated with an AA Degree from the College for Appraisers and became members of Appraisers National Association (ANA). My husband and I moved to South Carolina, from California, in 1995. In 2003 we moved to Georgia, with my daughter and her family following close behind. The south seems to have brought us all peace and enjoyment. I am also a huge collector of Victorian and Georgian period jewelry, love tokens, and Valentines. On my creative side I enjoy making antique style batting and paper Christmas ornaments, and candy boxes. Please check out the "Memory Boxes" category for some of my hand-made wedding memory boxes.
